His movement and positivity troubled West Ham’s back line and he took his goal brilliantly, showing composure to round Adrian before slotting into an empty net. Left-back: James Milner – 6 – Poor in the first half but as West Ham collapsed in the second half, the 31-year-old had the licence to attack more. Midfield: Georginio Wijnaldum – 7 – Like many players, the Dutchman was much improved in the second half, registering two assists. He very nearly scored a goal of the season contender as his dipping volley hit the bar before Philippe Coutinho’s first. As always, the former Newcastle man provided Liverpool’s midfield with energy. Centre-back: Joel Matip – 7 – Made a key interception in the run up to Sturridge’s opener. A solid game overall from the Cameroonian as we have come to expect. last_img
