GAA: Glenswilly launch Girls GAA Academy

first_imgGlenswilly GAA Club has launched an ambitious Girls GAA Academy in a bid to bring the best from the ladies section of the club. The club last night officially launched an ambitious six year plan which aims to see the club’s ladies senior team achieve and retain Division One status.Launching the plan, the club’s Ladies Senior Team manager Gerard McGinty, said he was delighted by the tun-out at the launch. He also stressed that while improving standards amongst the girls and ladies of the club was the aim, there had to be an emphasis on fun and enjoyment.“This is an ambitious plan but we have the coaches and the dedication of players at this club to make it work.“There is no reason why Glenswilly cannot be a major force in ladies football in Donegal,” he said. Addressing the launch, Donegal Ladies GAA and Termon star Therese McCafferty said it was terrific to see Glenswilly launch such an initiative.“As well as improving yourself as a footballer, this initiative will encourage other girls to join the club and make new friends and that is also a major part of what the GAA is about,” she said.Chairman of Glenswilly GAA Club, Peter McConnell, said the club was full behind the initiative.GAA: Glenswilly launch Girls GAA Academy was last modified: July 24th, 2016 by StephenShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:AcademyGAAGlenswilly Ladieslast_img
