Did you part ways amicably, and then grab your stuff from their home that you might have left and wish each other well? or did you decide to go and steal $800 worth of anime DVDs because you felt like stirring a little trouble?Apparently that’s what happened when Gunma Prefectural Police arrested a 23-year-old woman who stole her ex-boyfriend’s DVD sets, collectively worth about 90,000 yen, or over $810. Her 49-year-old boyfriend had her living with him, so she yanked the DVD sets and decided she’s resell them around 10:45 am the Friday after she made off with them. The woman said she stole the DVDs because she didn’t have any money and just needed some cash, but that’s hardly a reason for taking a man’s Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha and Fullmetal Alchemist DVDs, especially when they’re unopened. The man in question, @wkkazuya, ended up posting about the stolen DVDs after they went missing. Apparently, the woman was living with the man as part of an offer as she had no place to live. That’s where they went wrong to start with, apparently. She had been threatening to steal the certain DVDs yanked from the collection before, and that was a no-no on her end.More of the valuable items stolen were Blu-ray sets of shows like Darker than Black, True Tears, Sora no Manimani, and Android Kikaider. Various cases were unopened, and they were first-print runs of each show. Let this serve as a warning for anyone who might be thinking of a breakup if you’ve got an anime collection. Take those photos and document those things, because you never know who has sticky fingers!
